I’ve talked a lot about my early “struggle bus” days in business - when it felt like I couldn’t pay someone to book a free coaching session.
Things have obviously changed. I’ve since gotten fully booked and hit consistent multi-six-figure years, but I often think about how close I came to losing it all - what could’ve been hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue I’d never even know I missed.
Rewind the tape 6 years. I had just finished my first six months with my coach and was up for renewal. I’d definitely had a big transformation - I felt like a different version of myself and was showing up that way. I had a solid strategy and was starting to see some traction, but I still hadn’t booked many new clients.
(Side note: my coach was and still is one of the best in the industry. She coached me just as well then as she does today, but I was in a very different place.)
I remember walking with my (now) husband, weighing my options. I KNEW she was the right coach for me and that I needed continued support. I’d grown so much in six months, even if my bank account hadn’t caught up yet.
I was all-in and sure I wanted to continue. The problem? I couldn’t afford it.
At the time, I made just enough to cover my NYC rent and essentials with my 9-5, some income from coaching, and a bar job on the side. My savings were down to just over $1,000—barely enough to cover one month of coaching fees.
The conversation wasn’t about whether it was “worth it” but whether I could handle the financial strain without putting pressure on myself or my business.
The backup plan? Borrow a little cash if needed, pick up extra shifts, and trust that I’m resourceful enough to figure it out…because I always have and that’s part of being an entrepreneur.
It was that simple, and I decided to bet on myself.
Here’s why I’m telling you this:
Three months later, I had my first $7k cash month. Then $8k, $9k, $10k, and eventually a $24,607 cash month.
This led to my first six-figure year and 63 consecutive $10k-$40k cash months. Since then, I’ve generated $1.5 million in revenue, built a healthy savings account, and created an investment portfolio that earns thousands monthly.
I often think about the story I’d be telling if I hadn’t made that investment - if I’d “played it safe” and held on to my last $1,300. I’m sure I still would’ve grown, but I doubt I’d be the CEO I am today or have the results I do.
Maybe I wouldn’t have missed the full $1.5 million, but I’m sure it would’ve cost me hundreds of thousands in missed opportunities. And the worst part? I wouldn’t even know. I’d just be proud of “figuring it out on my own.”
I think about this whenever I’m about to make an investment that feels stretchy. It’s like what you see on Shark Tank - people miss out on making life-changing deals because they focus on the short-term cost instead of the long-term value of getting the right support.
I don’t know if you need a business coach or if I’m the right fit for you, but if you’ve read this far, you’re likely considering an investment you know is the next step.
As someone who’s invested hundreds of thousands into my business and self, here’s my advice: No investment comes with guarantees, no matter how great the coach or program.
Make sure you’re solving the right problem, do your due diligence, and check for fit. Then ask yourself if you trust yourself to show up for that investment and make the most of it. (This is the question I always ask myself!)
Betting on myself has always been the investment that’s paid me back the most - and prevented the biggest losses in my business and personal growth. Even my “failed” spends have sped up my learning curve and moved me closer to the right investment for growth.
I remember my coach once telling me about wealthy older folks who said their biggest regrets were the investments they didn’t make. I’ve taken that to heart ever since. I always lose more when I sit on the sidelines, trying to save money at the expense of my growth.
That’s one of the reasons I adopted the same revenue-sharing model my coach uses. I remember how stretchy investing in coaching was at the start and how supportive it felt, knowing I’d only only pay more when I was making more.
It’s truly a win-win: My clients get the benefit of betting on themselves while having the security of knowing they’ll only pay more when they’re earning more, too. This also allows me to invest in my clients just like they invest in themselves.
Instead of raising my rates to match my 8.5 years of experience and results, I put my money where my mouth is. I’ve got skin in the game, too.
I’d love for you to experience this kind of coaching relationship - one where we’re in it together, helping you grow and scale to six and seven figures.
If you’re looking for a 1:1 business coach and strategic thought partner to support you holistically - whether that’s showing up as a CEO, refining your offer suite, or mapping out your marketing & sales system to scale to $10k-$100k months - let’s talk.

I share this story because I know how scary it can feel to make an investment in yourself and your business, especially when you haven’t seen the results you want, yet.
But from my experience, the biggest risk we can take as entrepreneurs is not taking that leap at all. The opportunities you could be missing may be worth far more than the cost of betting on yourself.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to be the coach who helps you reach your next level and scale your business to six and seven figures.
Always wishing you your version of success.
P.S. Skimming to the bottom? Here’s the quick takeaway: The biggest risk in business is often not betting on yourself. That’s why I take the risk with my clients, too. With my revenue-sharing model, you only pay more than your base rate when you’re earning more.
When you hire me as your 1:1 business coach, we’re in it together. I want you to experience this level of support, partnership, and strategy as you grow to six and seven figures.
