I Would Have Eye-Rolled This Money Truth HARD Six Years Ago

July 6, 2022 by admin

Want to know one of the biggest drivers for making more money doing what you love?

THIS is the work BEFORE money comes rolling in on repeat with ease.

But, most people want THIS to be the thing they get on the other side of making money.

That “thing” is SELF-LOVE . . . loving yourself.

Look, I know six years ago, I would have eye-rolled this hard. But, before you do the same, hear me out.

I’ve seen a direct correlation between self-love and the *ease* of making money in my business. Ditto for my clients as they create epic record-breaking months for themselves.

This doesn’t mean you can’t make money hating on yourself. People do that every day. It’s just going to feel like an uphill climb through sludge.

Self-love isn’t all woo (though, it taps into great manifesting energy too), it’s a practical strategy for your business income and impact. It’s also something you’re inherently worthy of and deserve to give to yourself...not something meant to be a prize waiting for you when you get “there”.

When you love yourself, think about how differently you show up. Mindset tells us, your thoughts influence your actions, that influence your results . . .that go back and influence and reinforce your thoughts.

Loving thoughts toward yourself will directly impact your business actions, how you show up for them, your results, and in turn, reinforce self-love. (Just like hateful thoughts toward yourself will do the same.)

In fact, there have been studies with plants that show when they are in environments with more loving, kind words that they grow taller, larger, and healthier than those in a negative environment.

And, if this still sounds too fluffy for you, give the apple experiment a try: cut an apple in half, and put each half in its own sealed container in different spots. Saying loving words every day to one half. Say hateful, mean, angry words to the other.

This has been done by countless people (Google “apple experiment power of words” for some visuals), and similar to the study with plants, the half of the apple that receives the angry, hateful words rots significantly more.

The results are pretty telling and wild to see.

So, yes, you can make money being a jerk to yourself, but aside from the manifesting magic and feel-goodness of loving yourself, studies (and the way your brain works) also practically support that self-love and being kind to yourself is the rocket fuel that can blow up your income (and impact) without doing any additional work.

The challenge? Most people want the equation in reverse, when I make more money then I’ll finally love myself and feel good enough. That’s a treadmill that’s exhausting and keeps people running and chasing something they can’t catch.

Expecting self-love as a byproduct of bank deposits can lead to burn-out, self-sabotage, or wanting to light a match to your business. This isn’t in service of sustainable income or real self-love.

When you focus on loving yourself first, this changes the way you’re showing up in your business, for your clients, your team, your marketing, and for your sales process.

Self-love also affects how you perceive and notice opportunities around you, the interactions you have, and the relationships you build and nurture.

For example, think of how differently you view a conversation with a potential client when you’re hating on yourself and thinking you’re not enough versus when you’re loving on yourself and thinking you’re so good enough.

Or how different an opportunity looks, like someone asking for suggestions in a FB group, when you’re loving yourself and your work.

Which lens do you think yields a better result?

Self-love isn’t the prize for making more money, it’s what comes first if you want to make more money doing what you love.

This week, instead of trying to put more pressure on yourself, find fault, and give yourself a hard time in hopes that will whip you into business shape and help you bring in clients and cash, what if you give the self-love first method a go? Where can you release some of the pressure, give yourself some credit and a pat on the back, and notice what you’re doing well?

Besides, if you can make money either way, might as well go for the route that feels a whole better and creates bigger, taller, and healthier results 😉

Wishing you your version of success!

P.S. Ready to trade in that inner bully for self-love so you can get out of your own way, find more *ease* in business, and make more money in a way that feels good?
