"My life will not be an apology. It will be a statement."
- Andy Andrews
Anyone who's known me for a while knows I'm a recovering over-apologizer.
“I’m sorry” used to come out of my mouth so often, it was the cause of one of the few fights I remember having as a kid with my childhood best friend. I remember crafting the longest note about how I was sorry for saying “I’m sorry” too often!
Apologizing is still something I have to be mindful of, and it's a trait I notice in clients all.the.time.
That's why I did this livestream, where we dug into apologizing, qualifying speech, the funny ways we apologize without ever using the word 'sorry', and how this affects our self-esteem, perceived confidence, expertise, and business results.
I've got you covered on the flip side as well and those times we do want to apologize and how to use qualifying language with intention for effect in our services and marketing.
