Happy New Year, fresh start, and first day of 2021!!
I have a few practices I personally love for closing out the past year and welcoming in the new. One practice I’ve done consistently for about 6 years now is choosing a word or phrase of the year.
Do you choose a ‘word of the year’?
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, this is a practice where you choose a word (or phrase) to focus on for the year. This word becomes your lesson, teacher, your meditation, and something you master and understand new layers of throughout the year.
When I first heard about this practice, I thought it was silly. Now, after doing this for years, I’ve gotta say how much I love choosing a word or phrase for the year.
Over the years, I’ve found this practice to be powerful. I always get exactly what I need from my word, and it always hands me unexpected and needed lessons.
That being said, I know I used to eye roll at the concept, and I know because I hear from some of you understanding how to choose and use your word or phrase of the year can be confusing.
That’s why I went live with a special guest and dear friend, Business Coach and Speaking Strategist Laurie-Ann Murabito, to break this practice down and talk all things word of the year.
We dove into the benefits of choosing a word of the year, how to choose a powerful word or phrase, and how to use this practice to set yourself up for business (and personal growth) this year. We also shared our words of 2020, the biggest lessons they brought us, and our words for 2021!
Whether you don’t get the whole ‘word of the year’ thing or want to understand it better and get insights into the lessons that helped us both uplevel our income and impact in 2020, this is a conversation you don’t want to miss!
Wishing you your version of success.
XO, Kim
