Here’s something I know to be true after seven years in business and generating over a million in revenue from 1:1 alone in the past four years.
This is the same thing I teach my clients that helps them get booked out and make recurring five and multi-five figure months.
Something I like to call “clients now and clients later”.
This is a business truth I learned back in my acting days.
See, as much as booking film roles and commercials was about talent, it was also about know, like, and trust.
A director didn’t want to hire you, sign a contract, fly you across the world, only to be stuck with you on set when they realize you’re a PITA, can’t take direction, or aren’t a professional who’s able to show up on time and deliver.
So, part of the gig when you were auditioning was yes, nailing it, so you could book parts now.
AND, it was also about showing up, bringing it, and knowing you were there to deepen your relationships and build trust so you could be hired for a bigger part LATER.
In fact, sometimes you’d get called in for roles you weren’t right for because casting wanted to get to know you - as a pro - for something coming up in the pipeline.
Many of the parts I ended up booking were from relationships started and seeds planted previously. In fact, when I moved to NYC, I was still getting calls a year later after I had left the industry for acting work.
This same phenomenon is how it works in business, too.
Your business success and making millions on any timeframe is all about leaning into the concept of clients now and clients later.
That post you write, email you send, live you hop on, podcast you record, call you serve your face off on…might bring in a ready AF cold lead today who needed to hear exactly what you had to say and is ready to hire you
AND, it can also start the path to your next $10k or even $100k sale 6 months or two years down the road.
This becomes especially true if you sell higher ticket offers, where some people are saying it can take 50-70 micro touchpoints for someone to be ready to buy.
What I learned acting that’s true for you, too, is you want to be available and ready for both:
hopping on a plane to South Africa with a week’s notice because you landed the part, AND the call from that casting director you auditioned for a year ago who wants to bring you in for a role.
the hell yes client who just joined your FB group yesterday and saw one post at the right time and the clients later who have been silently lurking for months binging all your content.
Clients now and clients later is the truth and “secret” behind show-stopping six and seven-figure business results and a whole lot of ease in making money the longer you show up.
