One thing I know after supporting three clients to the million dollar mark is how much your identity and who you’re being affects the money you’ll allow yourself to make, receive, have, and hold.
Ditto for how your CEO role also teaches others what to think about you, how to respond to you, and determines whether or not people want to pay you.
This is exactly why I dared a client on a recent call to disagree with me, and to use our coaching container to practice NOT ‘yessing’ me.
Not because being disagreeable or a contrarian is what makes you a “million-dollar CEO”. That’s silly.
But because I know for this client and so many others who have been raised to be the “good girl” (or boy) … the perfect student who gets straight A’s … the all-star employee … that you’ve learned to listen to what other people tell you to do, and what they say is right.
And, while being agreeable and following rules can make you a very nice human and easy to get along with, this isn’t always the approach that allows you to lead, create momentum, and thrive as an entrepreneur.
Not only do I not hold all the answers to my clients’ businesses, I’d also so much rather they get something “wrong” and walk away trusting themselves and their voice
than get everything “right” but always feel like they need me or anyone else to tell them what to do — pretty sure none of us started our business for more of that.
I also know, my job is to help you tap into *your* answers, not become a mini me, and that’s tough to do when you’ve been taught to listen to everyone but yourself.
I KNOW, the million-dollar CEO version of you knows how to listen to their own voice and is so willing to unapologetically own it, share it, and be “too much”.
