Want to know the ‘secret’ to making more money doing what you love on repeat (right now and always)?
You probably already know I don’t believe in a ‘secret’ to success, but if there was one, this would be it: be willing to get uncomfortable and look for discomfort as your sign for where to lean in.
This isn’t much of a ‘secret’ and something we all know deep down. It’s just not what we *want* to hear or do, so denying this truth and chasing secrets feels a whole lot better. Am I right?!
The ‘secret’ truth? The people who are selling and making more aren’t necessarily smarter, more talented, or better looking. They come from all walks of life with different backgrounds. They’re using different strategies. They’re selling all sorts of things. They have different advantages and disadvantages.
What they do have in common is they’re willing to show up for the uncomfortable.
Again.
And, again.
And, again.
And, again.
Then, when the uncomfortable gets comfortable. They look for the new edge and a way to stretch.
They have the uncomfortable conversations.
They say what other people think but won’t voice. They say what no one thinks but they believe. They speak their truth when no one AND everyone is listening.
They test and test when other people wait for a guaranteed result.
They make their own rules and follow them even when the herd says ‘you can’t do it that way.’
They take personal responsibility even when it’s hard, especially when it’s hard.
They hold up a mirror and look at their own BS and own it instead of playing the victim, blame game.
They lead when the world wants to follow a done-for-you path.
They create when it’s comfortable to consume.
They shine and take up space when it’s hella uncomfortable and shrinking back and blending in would feel like a warm, cozy blanket.
They do and ask for what they actually want, when settling and playing it safe with what they can get would feel so much better.
There is no ‘secret’ to success and making money doing what you love, but if there was one, this would be it, friends. Be willing to get and stay uncomfortable. Find comfort in the discomfort. Enjoy the magic and fun that’s in that sweet spot teetering on the edge of your discomfort.
That’s where your suitcase of money is hanging out. Problem is, marketing wants to sell you comfort, and it’s way more comfortable to look for your success inside someone else’s ‘secret’ 7-step formula made of their discomfort...and, way more comfortable to stay stuck wondering why that -ish isn’t working for you.
Are you willing to ask yourself the uncomfortable questions? Your success is the pot of gold on the other side on the uncomfortable rainbow.
Wishing you your version of success right now and always.
P.S. Want support getting comfortable with the uncomfortable so you can take up space like a boss and make bank doing what you love? That’s my zone of genius and we should talk.
