Ever find yourself obsessively thinking about that money you want to make?
You know *exactly* how much cash you want and can’t.stop.thinking.about.it.
You heard, “What you focus on expands''. So you’re FOCUSED on that money, honey. You’re taking action and doing all.the.things.
Except, the dollar bills are rolling in more like tumbleweeds than the avalanche you were expecting. Wtf gives?!
I bet you’re focused on the wrong thing.
I know how counterintuitive this is about to sound, but hear me out.
People with a ton of money aren’t thinking about money all the time.
Just like someone who’s married isn’t thinking about being in a relationship obsessively.
And, someone who’s happy with their body isn’t thinking over and over again about what they ate for lunch.
When you already have what you want...you’re more detached and don’t obsess.
It’s when you don’t have what you want, the money, the relationship, the body, that the mind wants to latch on and think about it all day long.
This is pretty useful information because when it comes to mindset and manifesting more of the good stuff and all the things you want, like a business you love that pays you beautiful money on repeat.
If you want to “act as if” and “be it before you have it” and know what your next-level self is thinking, what that’s actually going to look like is detaching and letting the strangle-hold grip go.
Because if you already had what you wanted, you wouldn’t be obsessing...you’d be thinking about other things in your life.
I find the most important thing to focus on when it comes to your money goals is ironically, NOT focusing on the money you want to make, and focusing on what you already have and can give instead.
When you’re so focused on making and needing money that you’re strangling your goals, yes you have focus, but that attention ends up being more focused on what you *don’t* have. That’s scarcity thinking at its sneakiest.
If what you focus on expands, and what you’re *really* focused on is basically all the money you don’t have yet, you can easily see the math here...that adds up to expanding not having money (or whatever it is you want).
The more you can let go of obsessing over your money goal, which is that “detachment” you might hear so much about, the more you can shift out of scarcity thinking and into gratitude. And, that’s the abundant mindset that makes it easier to take the kind of giving action that allows for clients and cash to come in with ease.
After all, ever notice how much easier it is to get things when you don’t NEED them...and, the more you show up and serve from a full, unneedy place, the more you seem to get back in return?
Instead of giving yourself a hard time and trying to think more about what you want to create, what if you acted like the you who already has the business they love that’s making bank and let yourself focus on something else?
Wishing you your version of success.
