I want to talk about a really important concept that has to do with easy and business and making money feeling ‘easy’.
Because we talk about this a lot in the online space, and honestly, I know when I was first building my business, hearing ‘it’s easy’ and ‘let it be easy’, well, easily would have pissed me off.
Now, years into my business, it IS easy, and so is making money.
What I didn’t realize then, that I know now can be explained by Newton’s Law of Motion: Every object in a state of uniform motion will remain in that state of motion unless an external force acts on it.
When we’re in motion and momentum, it’s easier to stay in motion and momentum. It’s the law.
But, getting into motion requires tremendous effort.
Getting yourself to the gym and into a routine, way harder than staying in shape, right?
Getting yourself up and out of bed to move and start work, so much harder than when you’re already up and working, right? (Especially if you’re more night owl like me!)
It’s the whole space analogy, that a spaceship uses most of its fuel at takeoff and to break through the atmosphere.
It’s the takeoff and getting started that tends to require the most effort and once we’re in motion, it’s far easier to stay in motion.
And, this, my friend, is why it can FEEL hard at the start to build a business and ‘easy’ when you’re growing and scaling even if you’re doing the SAME EXACT THING.
Business absolutely gets to feel easy, and you’re not doing wrong if it’s not feeling that way, yet.
Know the more you get into motion and momentum, the more you’re setting yourself up for ease (and to reap the benefits of the compound effect!).
Let it be easy, and be easy on yourself before it FEELS easy!
