I’m pretty sure more business owners stress about handling sales objections more than they do about their taxes.
Am I right?
Allow me to offer you a perspective and reminder that will change the game when it comes to navigating those objections 👉🏻 It’s not about you.
Pretty much nothing going on during the sales process or in a sales conversation has anything to do with you. It’s all about what’s going on with someone else, the challenges they have, the problems they need help with, and the results they’re craving.
See, when someone has an objection to your offer, more often than not, they believe what they’re telling you:
“I’m too busy.”
“I can’t afford it.”
“Now’s not the right time.”
“I need to finish watching 40 course videos, all the downloaded free webinars, and get another certification first.”
Us humans love to fight for our limitations. We will kick up a giant screaming fit to prove our BS is true because we believe our own shit hard. We buy our own stories and cling to them like the life rafts we wish they were.
This means that objections aren’t really about you either.
Meaning, your people believe their own objections - they see them as the truth. In fact, those objections probably feel so real, they’re probably the same stories that are popping up all over the place and holding your people back from moving forward in every area of their lives.
Which is why supporting someone and helping them see their own BS is transformative magic, that yes, helps you sell more, but can also help someone shift patterns elsewhere in their lives.
Speaking to objections, the thing under the thing, the pattern and limitations that are holding your potential clients back is transformative work. This is something I support clients with all the time because being willing to speak to ‘the thing under the thing’ is also what helps you stand out from the crowd because most people aren’t willing to ‘go there’ for that exact reason.
Most entrepreneurs tangle up ‘handling objections’ because they get their human ego and self-worth blended into the mix, which stops listening and service in its tracks.
When you’re wrapped around your own doubts, you (unintentionally) make someone else’s decision all about you and your needs.
That’s when sales starts to feel icky. When you start having thoughts like...
How do I prove I'm good enough?
How do I convince them to buy from me?
What do I need to say to get them to say ‘yes’?
And, this is when ‘handling objections’ gets HARD because you’re trying to solve and heal *your* mindset and personal objections through someone else.
But, the more you can start to see that it’s really not about you, the less you need to prove, push, convince, or find the script of what to say…..and, the more you can actually see an objection for what it is and navigate like the beautiful heart-centered business owner you are.
Want to sell more? Want to transform more lives with your heart-centered work? Want to make more money doing what you love?
Instead of getting pulled into your people’s stories, speak up and be the voice that questions their limitations. Be a stand for what your people say they want. Be a voice for change.
I promise, you’ll sell more without needing to convince anyone, push anything, or use a sales ‘tactic’.
Wishing you your version of success!
