Feeling the pressure to make the *right* decisions in your business? (Which only keeps you in indecision?)
Are you wasting mental energy going back and forth, struggling to make decisions that move your business forward?
Worried if you make the wrong decision you’ll mess up your business or lose money?
Let me share something my therapist and coach said to me when I was deciding whether or not to move from LA to NYC seven years ago, that I’ve used to release the pressure and make decisions with ease.
Some backstory on this moving decision: I had just come back from a weekend trip visiting girlfriends in NYC, and I was flooded with the desire and ‘irrational’ knowing I needed to move here.
It also meant quitting my pay-the-bills job I’d had for about 8 years, selling my car, breaking my lease, saying goodbye to friends and a network I’d built up over a decade, and starting over in a new city with no job lined up.
I felt like I *knew* the decision I wanted to make, but I worried, what if it was the wrong decision? What if I fucked everything up? And with that, I got in my head, stopped trusting myself, and went down the worst-case-scenario, fear rabbit hole.
My therapist and coach said, “It’s just a decision. You can't make the wrong decision, unless you don't make a decision intentionally. You can always change your mind and make another decision.”
This is gold and something I now remind clients when they’re stuck with business decisions and piling on the pressure. Because indecision also keeps you immobile.
You can’t mess up and make the *wrong* decision unless you stop listening to yourself and stop trusting yourself, make decisions without awareness, or allow decisions to be made for you.
Release the pressure. Trust yourself. Listen to yourself. Decide. Take action. And, let the momentum of your action take you to the next decision.
Wishing you your version of success.
