The kind of marketing that makes you money has polarity that both attracts AND repels.
Think about your words that sell like a magnet that attracts people to you.
AND, a magnet has polarity with a north and a south. It BOTH pushes away and attracts.
The stronger the magnet, the more it pushes away and the more it pulls in. Which makes the opposite true as well, the less a magnet repels, the less it also attracts. Polarity.
That’s all good and great when it comes to magnets, but when it comes to your marketing, there can be resistance around repelling anyone, which leads to weakened attraction…or polarity can be misunderstood to mean “just be different for the sake of being different” and go stir up some shit.
What I invite my clients (and you!) to think about is how I used to apply this kind of polarity during my acting days that helped me stand out when I was auditioning and everyone looked the same and had the same lines to perform -
I didn’t *try* to be different for the sake of being different, that would only have me miss what was on the paper and role I was being asked to play.
Instead, I needed to trust my lens and what I could bring that no one else could. I’d ask myself, “How can I play this role the way it’s written but bring my own spin, my own take, my own perspective only I can bring?”
Owning my take and bringing my essence to each part was what made it different and created polarity - and, I had to be willing to commit fully to “risk” repelling a director so I could also have a strong enough performance to stand out and attract a job.

Instead of being a contrarian, which might get attention, but not the kind of polarity that attracts know, like, and trust, think about your opinion, perspective, stories, lens, essence, and what you can bring to your role as a CEO that no one else can because it’s so inherently you and owning THAT.
This creates powerful marketing, and attracts right fit clients who want what YOU have to offer and can’t wait to pay for your special sauce…and, will only repel misfit clients who are meant to work with someone else.
