Would you let a seven-year-old run your business? Would you let them make the important decisions or handle challenging situations with your clients?
Even if you know some pretty smart and amazing seven-year-olds, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess ‘no’, no you would not.
But, what if I told you, there’s a good chance you already have a seven-year-old running, managing, and making the important decisions in your business?
Stay with me here because this is important.
See, our subconscious brain (the thoughts we’re not aware of) is mostly formed by the age of seven and ten. And, about 95-99% of all of our conscious (what we’re aware of) thoughts, feelings, and actions get their start in our subconscious mind.
Meaning, unless we’ve done and are doing the work to create awareness and become conscious of our thoughts, most of us are operating business and life from the thoughts and stories we internalized as a kid.
The majority of business owners are reacting to situations in their business based on their past and what they picked up and learned as a kid.
This is reason 4,367 doing daily mindset work (and receiving powerful coaching) are non-negotiables if you want to create awareness and manage your mind, so you can show up, respond, and make decisions as the adult CEO!
And, here’s some super duper good news in the mindset department.
Besides mindset work being incredible and GAME-CHANGING for building, growing, and scaling a profitable business you love...you can change your brain and wiring, your mindset and thought patterns any time.
Meaning, it’s not too late.
You haven’t gone through too much.
You’re not too old.
All of that? That’s just the -ish your brain is handing you because it’s resisting change.
Resistance to change and new ideas, totally normal by the way.
But, resistance doesn’t indicate possibility or truth.
And, this isn’t just some rah-rah post telling you you can do it, this is based on science and what we know about the brain.
Our brain has something called ‘plasticity’, meaning it has the ability to structurally change, and it’s been found we can do this at any time. Your brain is basically an X-Men character ;).
This is great news and important to know because again, our brain doesn’t exactly love the idea of changing up the program it’s been running, often for decades.
So, let that seven-year old boss know you appreciate all it’s hard work, after all, it’s been protecting you. And, let it know, it gets to rest and retire, and you’re ready to upgrade its programming because while it’s not too late, now is the time to start.
Wishing you your version of success!
