As we head into all the Black Friday offers telling you what you need to scale your business, here’s a reminder:
I made my first six figures using the same $150 photoshoot pictures I’d had for years.
I made my first $365k year using the headphones that came with my iPhone and a $99 mic to record my podcast inside my closet.
I crossed $1.5M in revenue with the same 6-year-old website and a simple Google spreadsheet to track leads.
I’ve sold out coaching offers with a PDF and booked clients without a sales page.
I’ve gone viral with reels I recorded using my arm or husband as my tripod 
And yet…
I’ve also invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal growth, business coaching, and team support over the last 8.5 years.
That first year I hit six figures? I invested 66.7% more in high-ticket 1:1 coaching than I spent on that photoshoot. Why? Because it gave me the confidence and strategy to make those pictures work for me.
I might have recorded my podcast in my closet, but I invested in team support to free up my time to make it happen.
I may not have a shiny new website, vibey sales pages, or complicated CRMs—but I’ve invested heavily in business coaching to refine my positioning, messaging, and strategy. These are the things that have actually helped me make consistent $25k-$40k cash months for years.
The Simple Investment Question That’s Guided Me Over The Years
Here’s the question I always ask myself:
Does this investment make it easier—or harder—for me to get results?
A complicated tool? This doesn’t actually help me get into action. It makes it harder to get started & get results?
Team support that frees up time or expert 1:1 coaching that helps me spot opportunities? These make it easier for me to execute, build momentum, and get results.
This doesn’t mean there’s no place for a splashy upgrade or shiny tool - but I invest in those when they make it easier to amplify results.
The reality online is a lot of us are going broke “investing” in metaphorical Ferraris we don’t know how to drive. When a Jetta (or whatever the kids are driving these days 
) will get you where you want to go just fine.
But, we’re scrimping on the very investments that make it easier to get started, build momentum, spot opportunities, and blow up results.
My dad was a race car driver and coach for 50 years, and he’d tell you, what matters more than the car is:
who’s driving it, that you have the right engine and fuel, your strategy, and how good your coach and pit crew are at supporting you.
When you’ve got those pieces working for you, then the Ferrari or Porsche is the move
