I used to think coaches charging $10k for 6 months were kinda a scam.
Like, who did they think they are, and who has that kind of money to invest?
I also used to get triggered AF by coaches I saw claiming they made $10k/month, doubly so if they said it was effortless or easy. I full on eye-rolled anyone who also included any sort of manifesting lingo along with those results.
What I can also tell you, 7 ½ years into business later, now making consistent $25k - $40k cash months myself, is my beliefs, fear, and lack of self-trust held me back and cost me time and potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars at the start of my business.
I’ve always invested in my business and self.
But, the truth is, I played it small, and what I thought was “safe” in those early years and my bank account reflected the same.
I didn’t actually think it was worth it to invest at a higher level at the time.
I didn’t think I’d be able to get an ROI that was worth it.
Or that coaches would just tell me to spend a bunch on FB ads.
I thought I could outsmart the system and cobble together a business foundation on my own by studying other people’s funnels.
I thought I could webinar and podcast my way to healing my trauma, managing my mind, and becoming a CEO.
I didn’t want to admit I was scared.
Scared of losing it all and not being able to pay rent and support myself in an expensive and new city (NYC) that I was building a life in.
Scared I’d make the wrong decision and f*ck it all up.
Scared I’d find out, actually, I didn’t have what it takes - that I wasn’t good enough - and I’d just be paying for someone to validate this fear.
Scared to be seen and exposed by someone who was “better than me”.
Simultaneously scared I *would* “make it” and have to sit with and navigate all that entails - could I handle it? Hold it?
Today, it’s not that I don’t ever get triggered or scared anymore - I’ve grown, not turned into a robot 
- it’s that I trust myself to discern the investments that are right for my business and me, and I trust myself to show up for and make the most out of any investment.
I know and trust, when I invest in myself, I speed up my timeline exponentially.
What took me 2 years on my own, spinning my wheels, gets collapsed into 1 year, 6 months, 3 months, 1 month when I have the right high-level support by my side.
I also know, I stand to LOSE far, far more in lost time and potential earnings when I don’t invest in support than I’ll ever lose investing.
Sure, in those early years, $10k for a coach was legit ⅓ of my yearly salary at the time (I picked up a second job to get the cash!), but given my business now makes $350k+ a year, I can see I was being “penny wise, pound foolish.”
I also know, an email like this back in the day would have also made me angry. I would have thought this is the kind of thing coaches write to try to convince other people to pay them.
Now? I KNOW coaches write emails like this because once you’ve worked through your sh*t and have bet on yourself big and experienced the payoff, you can’t unsee all the ways you used to hold yourself back and play small and you want better for others.
And, you just want to scream from the rooftops to others that sometimes playing it safe is actually the riskiest and most expensive thing you can do in business.
All that said, I also don’t by any stretch of the imagination expect anyone who’s just met me to be ready to invest and jump into a long-term coaching relationship…I mean, I wasn’t ready to get married the day I met my husband!
