You’ve heard consistency is magic (if you haven’t heard the news, it IS magic).
But, it’s showing up consistently before the results are rolling in that the magic gets started and cooking. That’s some real boss shit that takes some mindset work.
One of the biggest gifts you can give your business (and yourself) is to keep taking action *even when you’re not seeing results*.
It’s easy to show up when the clients are rolling in, but it takes some serious belief and self-trust to keep showing up when you think no one’s watching.
But, people ARE watching (how creepy does that sound, btw?!).
People are paying more attention than you realize.
And, they’re watching to see if you’re the real deal. If you’ll still be around after lockdown.
They might not even realize it, but they’re quietly stalking your content to see if you’re going to tap out, start over, or change lanes. They’re watching to see if you get them and can help them. They’re watching to see if they can trust you enough to give you their money.
Want to know the truth about my business and showing up when no one’s paying attention? Sometimes I still only have one or two people live on my livestreams, but you better believe I bring it.
When I started my IG account I had something like 7 followers, and I showed up and posted every day like there were 7,000.
My FB group started with less than 20 people in it, and I loved on them like it was a full house.
My email list started with 13 people, and they got great weekly content.
I’ve done an in-person workshop where one person showed up, and you better believe I gave her the best experience possible.
Want five-figure months doing the work you love? Want to sell more online?
Want to be someone to watch online and have the paycheck to match?
Keep taking action and showing up even when you’re not seeing results. Keep showing up when you think no one’s watching. Bring it when your audience is one person and serve them so damn well.
When it feels like no one is paying attention, show up anyway and deliver like all eyes are on you. Because it’s how you show up and serve when you think no one is watching, when you think it doesn’t matter, when the dollars aren’t rolling in that says so much and matters just as much as when you’re cutting checks and speaking to thousands.
Wishing you your version of success!
P.S. Another place we can all do better showing up consistently is in our anti-racism work and support (this is life-long work). I’m not an expert on this, nor will I pretend to be. There are MANY brilliant Black educators online. If you’re able to, I encourage you to pay someone for their experience, work, and education. Here are some of the people I’m learning from (and investing in education from):
The Trinity Academy has a great Masterclass for $50
