A few years ago, I had a freakout over the phone with my coach.
I had just hit my biggest cash month to date in my business. And instead of celebrating that growth, I was panicking.
“What if I can’t sustain this? What if something happens and this all goes away? What if the Internet disappears or if no one ever hires me again? What if I get used to things being good and it stops?” I asked her.
You know, all of the internal dialogue and mind trash that comes up for almost everyone because, well, we’re all human. And, humans gonna human
I remember my coach telling me something along the lines of:
Yes, any of that could happen. But, the safety in my win wasn’t the money, it was in who I had BECOME in the process - someone who knows how to make money - and how to receive and hold money. Someone who knows how to create clients. Someone who, even if my business disappeared tomorrow, knows the internal and external mechanisms for building a business and creating money.
I could take this and do this all over again if I had to.
My internal chatter quieted and handed me silence.
It was at that moment the fear dissolved and was replaced with safety and a knowingness that even if the worst happened, I’d be OK.
My previous spiral was replaced with the thought, “I’m unstoppable”.
THIS is what I want you to tap into when your brain wants to human on you (because it will) when you’re simultaneously celebrating a win and freaked out that the bottom is going to fall out.
Because your safety in business and with money doesn’t come in finding the perfect set of circumstances where nothing ever happens, changes or goes away…that’s a recipe for stress and a treadmill that has you chasing more and more to feel ok and like you have enough. Your safety net comes from the self-trust that you cannot only handle the ‘worst case’ if it were to happen, but you trust your ability to rebuild and do it all over again if you need to.
All of the personal mindset growth, energy shifts, skills, strategy, business savvy, relationships you’ve built, actions you’ve taken, and lessons you’ve learned that have brought you to this moment - no one and no situation can take that away from you. THIS is your safety net.
Instead of simply celebrating your external wins, I challenge my clients to celebrate the internal wins and mechanisms you’ve mastered along the way to create those wins - the wins under the win. I invite you to do the same: celebrate WHO you’ve become in the process and what you’ve done and mastered to make your wins possible, because those are the true wins every time.
Those are also the wins that keep compounding for you to create more success despite any external circumstances you find yourself in - and this makes you unstoppable.
Celebrating your wins under the wins with you and wishing you your version of success!
