When you downplay your personal and client results, you’re not only hiding in plain sight and sabotaging your business success, you’re also out of congruence.
And, you want to know what people are looking for, without even knowing it, before they buy?
That whole know, like, and trust thing is about congruence. Especially in the online space where anyone can slap together a website, call themselves an ‘expert’, and put a price tag next to it.
Your people are looking to see, are you who you say you are? Does what you preach match up with what you sell? And are your results in line with what you offer?
And while they might be pleasantly surprised to find out you’re better than you say you are...it’s a long walk for most people to figure that out...and that lack of congruence still ends up breaking down some of our trust because it doesn’t match up.
I mean, if you’re the bomb.com at what you do and not sharing it with the world, that’s JUST as inauthentic as lying about your background, not sharing the truth behind-the-scenes, or inflating your results.
It works both ways.
So, stop leaning on ‘authenticity’ and ‘vulnerability’ as a cop-out for not owning your brilliance or taking up space like a boss.
It’s not just about vulnerably sharing all the hard shit or dark times as a way to ‘connect’.
And, it’s not only about authentically letting people know you’ve been there, too.
BOTH are beautiful and important, but it’s inauthentic and, frankly, playing small to stop here.
It also does a massive disservice to your people because you meet them where they’re at without throwing the life raft you’re holding in your hands on dry land.
Share the truth, be vulnerable, authentic (always), AND remember sharing the good stuff, standing in your power, and owning your awesome-sauce is a part of this.
If taking up space, playing bigger, and publicly owning your awesome-sauce feels yucky, try this reframe: it’s yucky NOT to, and you’ll be showing up in integrity and rocking some congruence (which builds trust) every time you show up fully with all you have to offer.
Wishing you your version of success!
