When you lead with anxiety, fear, scarcity, or lack that’s what you’re spreading.
I don’t know about you, but I’m so not a stand for leading from a place of any of that -ish.
Because as an entrepreneur and thought leader, we start the conversations.
We let people in on our insights.
We share the message others take and spread.
But what if you aren’t feeling so positive (because, you know, #beinghuman)?
A reminder that there’s no such thing as ‘bad’ emotions (and sometimes it’s normal and necessary to feel ‘negative’ emotions).
So, if you’re feeling less than ‘high vibe’ right now, the win isn’t making yourself wrong and shoving it down. The win is giving yourself permission to feel what you feel, so you can move through those emotions, neutralize them, and get to a place where you can consciously choose that ‘high vibe’ thought.
(And, hang with me, because this has everything to do with leading, your business profitability, and success in uncertain and certain times.)
Forcing ‘high vibe’ on top of ‘negative’ emotions? I mean, has that ever worked for? Last time I checked, it’s like wrestling a bear when you try to fight your emotions, and it’s only another way to make yourself wrong.
Have you ever noticed when you let yourself actually feel your feels, they pass so much faster? Most emotions, even the intense ones, are pretty short-lived if you let them out to play right away.
It’s when you bottle everything up and stuff it away that the emotional explosion is so intense and seems to never end.
Think about how this plays out in a relationship. When you speak to something buggin’ you right away, what happens? It’s usually no big deal and over in moments.
When you let something that’s bothering you fester and stew for weeks and weeks. What happens? You explode over something like a dirty spoon in the sink, and there’s no stopping the emotional rampage.
I mean, no wonder, that’s a lot of built-up pressure, right?
But, it’s not the emotions themselves that are so bad and intense, it’s all the pressure that’s compounded the longer they’ve been shoved away...and, it’s all the barnacles that latch on, the longer they’re hiding in the dark. It’s what you’ve made those intense emotions mean and the story your brain has elaborated on over time.
Instead of seeing your feelings as ‘good’ or 'bad’, how about seeing them as great evidence as to what’s going on inside? In this way, giving yourself permission to feel, is also a shortcut to managing your mind (and, a way to begin to create some space and observe your thoughts). And, this has everything to do with your business success (told ya, we’d get there).
Because your business success and money-making results have everything to do with your ability to manage your mind. How you show up (or don’t) the actions you do (or don’t take) are all directed by your thoughts.
This is why managing your mind, to manage your business, is essential. Because your thoughts run the show (not your circumstances, not even now).
And, that thing we call impact? It starts with your thoughts.
Your thoughts become feelings, become actions, become the ripple you create and share in the world.
So, if you want to have a positive impact now and always, start with your thoughts and managing your mind.
Permission to feel the feels and process so you can create enough space to manage your mind and show up for for next-level business success. That’s the real CEO stuff.
Giving yourself permission to process your emotions OUTSIDE your business and giving yourself the chance to choose new thoughts that serve you has everything to do with your leadership, the impact you’re making, and the income you’re taking home.
